Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Wear maternity pants that are made from a comfortable material. Cargo pants are durable and flatter a pregnant woman's figure.

  2. Step 2

Pick a panel type for the pants. Maternity pants come with belly panels to accommodate women at different stages of their pregnancy. No-panel and semi-panel styles can be worn by women in the earlier stages of pregnancy. Full-panel pants are worn during the later months.

  3. Step 3

Compare sizes. Sizing charts at maternity stores will help you figure out what size pants that you should be wearing. You will look at your pre-pregnancy size and then check to see what maternity size you should be wearing.

  4. Step 4

Buy pants that are suitable for the season. If you are going to be showing more in the colder months, purchase heavier pants like khakis. For warmer months, wear capri pants and cropped styles.

  5. Step 5

Consider drawstring pants. Maternity pants that are drawstrings can be worn throughout the early and advanced stages of your pregnancy.

Tips & Warnings
  • Most pregnant women find that they are comfortable wearing pants that sit under the belly.
  • Always remember to find out return policies on maternity clothing purchases. Many maternity stores only allow a small window for returns.
