Remembering and planning for the smallest details on your wedding day will make your big day that much more enjoyable. Handing out boutonnieres to the wedding party may seem pretty straightforward, but a little planning and preparation ensures that the task is accomplished with ease.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Have the wedding boutonnieres delivered to the location where the wedding party will be making their preparations.

  2. Step 2

Coordinate the delivery of the personal flowers with the arrival of the photographer. The pinning of the boutonnieres is a photo opportunity you might want to capture.

  3. Step 3

Designate someone from the wedding party or a helpful relative to pass out the wedding boutonnieres to all recipients. Traditionally, the guest book attendant does this job.

  4. Step 4

Instruct the florist to label each boutonniere for the intended receiver to make the job easier on the person handing them out.

  5. Step 5

Keep the boutonnieres in their delivered boxes, wrapped in cellophane and out of direct sunlight until it is time to hand them out.

  6. Step 6

Check each boutonniere before handing it out for damaged flowers and remove any, if needed.

  7. Step 7

Pin boutonnieres on the left lapel of each recipient's tuxedo or suit jacket.

  8. Step 8

Hand out boutonnieres to the groom, groomsmen, ushers, fathers, grandfathers and any other special members of the party you would like recognized.

Tips & Warnings
  • The groom's boutonniere should be slightly different than the rest.
  • Order additional boutonnieres in case one gets crushed or ruined in the pinning process.
