Wedding corsages are the traditional way to recognize special family members. Whether you are having a simple backyard wedding or an elaborate formal evening affair, corsages provide the opportunity to show your appreciation to the ladies in the bridal party.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Ask the recipients of the wedding corsages how they would like to wear their wedding corsage and what color they will be wearing on the wedding day. Corsages can be worn in three different ways: pinned on the clothing, on the wrist or on a purse.
Step2
Inform the florist of each recipient's corsage choice and ask for each one to be labeled with the recipient's name.
Step3
Have the wedding corsages delivered to the location where the wedding party will be getting ready.
Step4
Instruct the florist to mist the corsages heavily and wrap them in cellophane prior to boxing for maximum freshness. Leave them this way until it is time to hand the corsages out.
Step5
Appoint a member of the wedding party or a family member to pass out the wedding corsages. Traditionally, the guest book attendant handles this duty.
Step6
Check the corsages for damaged flowers or leaves and remove, if needed.
Step7
Provide corsages to the mothers and grandmothers of the bride and groom, the guest book attendant, soloist and any other family members or friends you would like recognized.

Tips & Warnings

  • Wipe the stems of the corsages dry to keep them from dripping on clothing.
  • A budget friendly alternative to a wedding corsage is a single stem flower or a small bouquet.
  • Direct sunlight will accelerate the wilting process of the flowers, so keep the corsages shaded.
