Fantasy sports are a huge industry. Some reports indicate that 10 to 20 million people over the age of 18 play some sort of fantasy sport. NASCAR racing has moved from being solely a southern pastime to a national pastime over the last decade. So if you can't be a driver or go to a race, the next best thing is to start a fantasy league of your own.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Gather a group of friends that will create several teams that will make up your fantasy league.
Step2
Find a website that will host your fantasy league. There are many websites out there to choose from, but FanStar.com and Racestore.com are two of the bigger websites that specialize in NASCAR fantasy racing leagues.
Step3
Choose someone to be in charge of the league. As disputes arise, and they will, someone is going to have to act as the NASCAR commission and hear appeals and settle disputes, as well being responsible for keeping score for the league. Make sure it is someone who is reliable, ethical and not going to play favorites.
Step4
Set up the rules of your league. The rules need to be simple, yet comprehensive and shouldn't leave room for many disputes.
Step5
Decide how your fantasy draft will take place. It can be an auction, a randomly generated draft or some other method of choosing drivers. Major fantasy league sites have various ways of constructing their draft so you may want to look at some of those to get an idea of how to set up your draft.
Step6
Learn the NACAR scoring system. Go to NASCAR.com to learn how point totals are calculated.
Step7
Register for the season and enjoy. Fantasy NASCAR racing is a lot of fun and if your league plays for money it's a nice way to earn a little extra cash.
