Children are constantly running without ever taking a break to rest. Parents and teachers wonder how to keep up with all that energy. Sometimes that energy can be frustrating if you cannot keep up. These steps will help you figure out how to avoid getting left in the dust.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Step1
Find a constructive way for the children to channel their energy. You can enroll them in karate, sports or just take them to the park on a daily basis. Do anything that you can think of to help them burn off their that excess energy so they will take a break and you can too.
Step2
Exercise on a regular basis. If you are out of shape then it will make it hard to keep up with your energetic children. It can also make it more frustrating for you because you will want them to sit still for a while, which will not happen.
Step3
Provide healthy foods for yourself and your children. If you eat the right balance of protein and carbohydrates you will have a much higher supply of energy to keep up with your little roadrunners. Healthy, less sugary foods will also help keep your children from bouncing off the walls.
Step4
Burn off your children's energy in the morning when your energy level is at its highest so they will be calmer and more relaxed in the afternoon. Most adults just want to relax by evening time and if your children have been cooped up all day that just will not happen.
Step5
Take your vitamins. If you are dragging or feeling weak and tired all the time then you might not be getting the necessary vitamins and minerals that your body needs.
Step6
Make sure that you and your family get plenty of sleep. Your body needs sleep to recuperate and repair itself so that you are prepared for the next day of activity. Adequate sleep also ensures that your children will not have excess energy caused by being overtired.
