How to Spoon Feed Twins

When you have two screaming babies hungry at the same time, it's good to know how to spoon feed twins. You could try the single method of feeding one baby at a time, but then you have to listen to one scream while you are feeding the other.

Instructions

Difficulty: Challenging

Step1
Sit each twin in a highchair. You can also prop them up in a Boppy or carseat. Choose which ever method works best for you.
Step2
Place newspapers or a plastic mat under the chairs. Newspapers are the easiest because you can ball them up and throw them away afterwards. It is guaranteed that there will be a mess.
Step3
Put a bib on each child. The craziness of spoon feeding twins often leads to food everywhere.
Step4
Mix the food in one bowl and use one spoon. Make sure the bowl contains enough food for both babies. Sit down in a chair or on the floor between the babies, facing them.
Step5
Spoon feed the babies, alternating bites. Take the occasional break to wipe their faces.

Tips & Warnings

  • Hold the bowl out of reach of the babies. They tend to grab for it and it will fly out of your hands.
  • Avoid feeding the babies together if one of them is showing signs of an illness. With twins, it's more than likely they'll share the illness anyway, but it is better not chance it.
