This amazing 10k Run sponsored by Asics is said to be the only run that "runs London." The proceeds will go to a different charity every year. Remember to register yourself at least two to three months prior to race day.

Difficulty: Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Anyone who is 15 or over is able to enter the race. You must check with your family physician or general practitioner prior to entering the race. There is a medical information sheet you will be required to complete as well as a "Next of Kin," form.

  2. Step 2

Prepare yourself and keep well hydrated. Temperatures vary in London over the summer; the 2006 race took place on a very hot 30ยบ Celsius day. In 2007, it was balmy with rain showers. There will be water stations before you begin the race, at the 3k, 5k, 7k and 9.5k marks of the race.

  3. Step 3

Plan your run; check the run route on the official run website, located in the resources section.

  4. Step 4

Getting there should be relatively easy. There will be baggage bays in which to store your belongings at Waterloo Palace. You will be assigned two race number tags; the larger of the two is to be pinned to the top you will be wearing and the smaller pinned to your bags.

Tips & Warnings
  • The number you display on your top or jersey must be seen at all times or you may be disqualified from the race.
  • Bottles of water (one per runner) will be given before and after the run.
  • Slower runners should keep to the right and remember that there are water points along most of the run route.
  • Follow the signs to the run route. After the run, you will be directed to pick up your bags after being given the Asics goody bag
  • Be prepared; if the weather is proving to be warm or hot for the day, be sure to keep your hydration levels up
  • The roads leading up to and around the race route will be closed for a few hours so do not bring your car with your bags to the baggage area as you will not have access.
