Seeing a Formula One race is one of the most entertaining and exciting spectacles in world sport. The races take place in many of the most beautiful and exotic countries in the world, drawing huge crowds wherever they run. If you are a fan of motor-racing, then seeing an F1 race is an absolute must for you. Here’s how.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Step1
Research the race calendar to find out where and when all the races take place. This changes from season to season.
Step2
Decide which race you wish to go to. The British Grand Prix at Silverstone is perhaps the obvious choice, but a trip to one of the far-flung race destinations can prove well worthwhile.
Step3
Go to www.formula1.com and click on the link “tickets and travel." Here you can find any information about races and tickets.
Step4
Decide whether or not you wish to purchase flights and accommodation as well as race tickets.
Step5
Select your chosen race and click “book." You then will have to decide whether you want a ticket for the whole weekend or only for the race on Sunday.
Step6
Decide what price you want to pay for your ticket. The cost of tickets depends on where in the enclosure they are valid. They range from approximately £60 for general admission on the Sunday only, to over £400 for the best grandstand seats all weekend.
Step7
Fill in your name and phone number, as well as you credit card details. Once you have done this, a voucher will appear for you to print out. Be aware that this is not your ticket. The printout must be presented at a media accreditation centre near the track you are visiting.
Step8
Book early to avoid disappointment. Three-day tickets are particularly desirable and sell out fast.

Tips & Warnings

  • Don’t buy your flight and accommodation from the official website if you are concerned about cost. Cheaper alternatives can be found from outside the official channels.
  • Beware of counterfeit tickets if not buying from an official outlet.
