Things You'll Need:
- CD prizes
- Rented television
- Beverages
- Food
- Invitations
- Karaoke machine
- American Idol board game
-
Step 1
Host a talent show at the party. Have your guests give their favorite songs a whirl using a karaoke machine before the show. Critique each other as the judges do on American Idol. Remember, as on "American Idol," the funnier, the better!
-
Step 2
Make your own main stage using the buffet table. Arrange plenty of finger foods and snack items on a large table for guests to snack on throughout the night. Because the premiere of American Idol is usually 2 hours, make sure you have enough food to last the evening.
-
Step 3
Play "Name that Tune" by having your guests either hum or sing a few versus of some of their favorite songs. You can give away music CD's to the players who guess the most songs right.
-
Step 4
Purchase and play CD clips of past Idol winners and see if guests can guess who the voice belongs to. Every right answer is worth one vote. The person with the most votes at the end of the evening wins a prize.
-
Step 5
Give away CD's of former American Idols as parting gifts for your guests. If they already have certain CD's, then give them a gift certificate to purchase online music.
-
Step 6
Download the "Behind the Scenes Recap" online to watch with your guest before the show starts.
-
Step 7
Plan your own American Idol trivia game using your knowledge of past seasons. You can even go online to get trivia questions. Give each guest one vote for a correct answer. The person with the most votes wins at the end of the night.
-
Step 8
Purchase the "American Idol-All Star Challenge" board game for guests to play before the show starts to see who really is an American Idol fan. The "American Idol-All Star Challenge" board game comes with a karaoke CD.
-
Step 9
Have guests write down as many of the top 12 finalists from each season as they can remember. Each correct answer is worth one vote. Give the person with the most votes a prize!
