1. Ask others who watch the show if they know the song or the band. If your friends are like minded in the music you enjoy, they may be able to give you good information regarding the song if they know it.
2. Pay attention to the credits at the end of your favorite TV show. Often a voice over will tell you who the band or artist was who performed during the particular episode.
3. Go to the show's website. Most likely, if the show is big enough to have its own page, there will be information about artists whose music has appeared on the show. If the information is not immediately obtainable, go to the show's forums and either do a search for music during the show or ask people in the forum if they know.
4. Go to the website you legally download music from. If you have an account with the website already, sign in under your screen name, using your password.
5. Type in the song title into the search bar to bring up the song.
6. Connect your MP3 player to the computer with your USB cable. The instructions you found with your particular MP3 player will tell you if you need to turn your power on before or after inserting the cord into the USB port.
7. Listen to the music to make sure it is definitely the song you heard on your favorite TV show and want to purchase. Most sites will let you listen to a small segment of the music before committing to purchase.
8. Look for the option to purchase and download the song. Depending on the website you use to download music, you will have a button for purchasing the song. Click this button and follow any on screen instructions for download.

• Write down the chorus of the song if you catch it during the show. The chorus in most cases contains the title of the song. In any case, it will be helpful later when searching for the song to download.
