The urban neighborhood which hosts the celebration is a thriving Columbus community filled with retail businesses, an intimate sector with specialty shops, boutiques, art galleries, sidewalk cafes and coffeehouses.

Attend the traditional Oktoberfest Opening Ceremony where the Mayor of Columbus, Ohio officially kicks off the event by tapping a real wooden keg from a German brewery.

Enjoy the Oktoberfest Biergarten filled with long tables that are perfect for accommodating large parties.

Choose from a vast selection of German beers and wines that are on tap. The German Village Oktoberfest also offers many other domestic and international brews for you to sample.

Participate in any one of many competitive, German-themed contests such as the Keg Barrel Roll, the Stein Pouring Contest, the Bratwurst Eating Contest or the challenging Beer Stein Hold.

Visit Marketplatz, an area created by organizers for local vendors and artisans to display and their wares.

Bring the children to Oktoberfest from noon to 6 p.m. for Family Day. Children under the age of 12, when accompanied by an adult, are allowed in for free.

Join in the fun and celebrate Oktoberfest by doing the chicken dance or learn how to move to the sounds of polka while large Oompah bands perform live on stage.
