Arrive early in Old Town to celebrate Oktoberfest in Monrovia, California. The 3-day event runs from 5 to 9 p.m. on Myrtle Avenue. Live music, good food, challenging contests and games for the entire family make the Monrovia Oktoberfest an enjoyable experience for people of all ages. The attractions include food booths, kiddie rides, arts and crafts booths, music, a farmer's market selling German foods and hard-to-find gift items such as beer steins.

Enjoy Oktoberfest in Old Town Monrovia

Step1
Celebrate with the entire family during the Friday Night Family Festival. The weekly Monrovia, California festival runs year round but takes on an entirely distinctive flair during the Oktoberfest celebration.
Step2
Sample the finest in Bavarian beers at the Monrovia Oktoberfest beer garden. International drinking songs fill the air as patrons toast one another.

Enjoy traditional German foods like bratwurst, sauerkraut balls, potato pancakes, strudel, Limburger cheese, pickled pigs feet, cream puffs and the ever-popular soft pretzels.

Join in the traditional chicken dance, or sit back in the crowd and watch the entertaining German Oompa bands.

Have fun with the kids while visiting the various games, rides, and arts and crafts booths.

Arrive at Old Town early in the day to attend Monrovia's annual Celebrate the Arts Festival on the same weekend as Oktoberfest. Sponsored by the Monrovia Art Festival Association, this free event features fine arts displays, along with demonstrations and other special entertainment.

Tips & Warnings

  • Several other events are running concurrently with the Monrovia Oktoberfest in the Old Town District so parking is at a premium during event hours.
  • No pets are allowed inside the Monrovia Oktoberfest.

on 9/1/2008 I don't see what DATES this 3-day fest are held on... Most Monrovians know nothing of this event at all... The Celebrate the Arts is usually Columbus Day weekend, but this article is too vague to be useful. Is this even for 2008 ?
