Visit Tempe, Arizona to celebrate Oktoberfest in this suburb of Phoenix. The Tempe Oktoberfest is well organized, with activities for all members of the family to enjoy. The 3-day event is traditionally held in early October and features German-themed music, games, contests and food and beverage booths. The Oktoberfest kicks off with a must-see children's parade and ends with an exciting raffle drawing that will send two lucky patrons to Germany for a dream vacation.

    Enjoy Oktoberfest

  1. Step 1

    Celebrate the beginning of Oktoberfest on Friday by attending the parade of over 180 children carrying flags from around the world.

  2. Step 2

    Watch performances that range from German Oompa bands to local artists playing a variety of music at one of three main stages.

  3. Step 3

    Purchase raffle tickets for a chance to win one of many prizes with proceeds benefiting Arizona charities like the local Temple Sister City Program.

  4. Step 4

    Place a bid in the Tempe Oktoberfest silent auction. The items up for auction range from tickets to local sporting events to 10-day vacation packages to exotic destinations such as Hawaii and the Bahamas.

  5. Step 5

    Enjoy the finest beers in the world while singing songs in the beer tents on the Weisn fairgrounds. Similar to the design layout of the Munich Oktoberfest, each tent offers a unique experience with its own variety of Bavarian beers and other international brews.

  6. Step 6

    The Kinderfest events feature rides such as Tidal Wave, Fire Truck Slide, Alligator Bounce, Jurassic Adventure, a mechanical bull and a climbing wall.

    Take a stroll through Hansel & Gretel Village or cool off in the Splash Playground after participating in a skills competition like the beer stein race or the keg toss.

  • Dress comfortably as the weather in Tempe, Arizona is still hot and dry in the month of October.
