Denver's annual Oktoberfest has evolved into one of the most exciting special events hosted by the city each year. Since its inception in 1969, Oktoberfest has been held on Larimer Square. In 2007, the event is being moved to a new location on Larimer Street between 20th and 22nd Avenues. The new location is in the popular Ballpark Neighborhood near Coors Field. A variety of German attractions, musical touring groups and professional dancers will entertain guests for a total of 6 fun-filled days of carnival games, drinking, eating, dancing and live music.

    Plan Your Denver Oktoberfest

  1. Step 1

Arrive at nearby Denver International Airport. Public transportation, taxis and rental cars are available at the airport.

  2. Step 2

Make hotel reservations in a downtown Denver suburban community. Many cultural attreactions are within walking distance in Denver.

  3. Step 3

Plan your trip to Denver well in advance and arrive to the Oktoberfest early each day to avoid ticket line delays. Family Days, similar to those honored at the Munich Oktoberfest run through 6 p.m. each day.

  4. Step 4

The Denver Oktoberfest is held during two non-consecutive weekends in September and October.

  5. Step 5

Celebrate the traditional Tapping of First Keg event, which occurs on the first Friday of the event.

  6. Experience Oktoberfest

  7. Step 1

Enjoy the many additional concession options that Denver Oktoberfest will feature in its new location.

  8. Step 2

Enjoy the many exhilarating rides and challenging games that dot the midway area in the Karneval section of the Weisn fairgrounds.

  9. Step 3

Catch a live performance from one of the German Oompa bands, or watch the exhilarating Sea of Accordions Concert while sipping on your favorite Bavarian brew.

  10. Step 4

Indulge yourself in one of the large Biergartens that serve the finest German beers and wines. The gardens at the new Oktoberfest location are much bigger than those at the old Larimer Square venue.

  11. Step 5

Sit at one of the rows of picnic tables at your favorite beer garden to enjoy live music while eating authentic German apple strudel, schnitzel, sauerbraten, bratwurst and large pretzels with hot mustard dipping sauce.

on 10/25/2007 There's nothin' like Oktoberfest! Aside from everything, my favorite part is seeing mass amounts of adults do the Hokey Pokey and The Chicken Dance. Good times!
