How to Attend the MUFON Symposium

Many UFO (Unidentified Flying Object) events are held primarily for fun. The MUFON (Mutual UFO Network) symposium, though, is very serious. Unless you know who Betty and Barney Hill are, what happened in Portage, Ohio and why MJ-12 is important to UFO watchers, this may be too rich for your blood. But if you consider the study of UFO's an absorbing branch of science, however, you'll feel right at home. Read on to learn more.

Attend The MUFON Symposium

1. Research MUFON at Mutual UFO Network (see Resources below). MUFON considers itself to be a source for objective, scientific information about UFO's and extraterrestrials.
2. Find out about what speakers will be featured at the symposium and what their topics will be at Mutual UFO Network (see Resources below).
3. Investigate the speakers and their topics further by visiting their individual websites. Many of them have links to sites from the MUFON website.
4. Familiarize yourself with famous incidents in UFO history, for instance, the Hill abduction, the Malmstrom Air Force Base encounters and the existence of the top secret agency MJ-12. This will aid your understanding of symposium topics and help you get your money's worth when you attend the symposium.
5. Look over the package deals offered by MUFON for the symposium at Mutual UFO Network Inc. (see Resources below). Read carefully to find out what is and is not included in each deal, as well as the prices and fee schedules you can expect.
6. Select a package from the MUFON site. Make sure you know what speakers and workshops are covered, as well as if meals are included.
7. For lectures that take place at a luncheon or dinner, you will need to order your food in advance. Choices are near the bottom of the registration page.
8. Register online, providing your personal contact information, your choice of workshops and lectures and any special needs requests.
9. Make sure you see to your hotel reservations and transportation needs (airline tickets and rental cars) well in advance. Many people attend the MUFON Symposium, and you want to get in ahead of the crowd.

Tips & Warnings

• There are two types of speakers at the MUFON Symposium--those offering general commentary on various UFO phenomena and those bringing new evidence concerning old cases of sightings, encounters and abductions. You may select which speaker or set of speakers you would like to hear, or you may pay a flat fee to listen to them all.
• Hotel accommodations are not included in the MUFON Symposium packages, but hotel information can be found on the site. Some offer special discounts to those attending, so look up prices and book early for the best deal.
