Visit The International UFO Museum

Step1
Gather all the information you can about the museum on its official website (see Resources below).
Step2
Decide on a purpose for your visit to the International UFO Museum. For example, you and your family may just want to go for fun, education, research at the library located in the museum or for inspiration for a creative project or art work.
Step3
Plan how long you would like to stay, keeping your purpose in mind. One day to visit the museum is typically adequate, although you may want to visit more of the city as well.
Step4
Think about transportation. While the museum parking lot has room for RV's and trailers, these vehicles might not be practical for getting around town. Check the availability of rental cars and public transportation in the area.
Step5
Check the website for special occasions and celebrity appearances. Consider scheduling your visit to the International UFO Museum during the annual UFO festival, usually held in July.
Step6
Look at airline schedules. While Roswell does have an airport, it is small. If you are traveling some distance, it might be a good idea to fly into Albuquerque's airport first.
Step7
Book a hotel in advance, especially if you are visiting during a special event. The presence of The International UFO Museum has inspired a number of low-to mid-price chains to open branches in the area.
Step8
Take the virtual tour featured on the website. Note which exhibits most interest you and where they are located. Keep this information handy, so that you can find your way around when you get there.

Tips & Warnings

  • An impressive feature of the museum is its reasonable admission charge. Advanced booking and group discount rates are also available.
  • The museum is largely composed of photographs, newspaper clippings and speculation about the Roswell incident and alleged cover-up. There are not too many interactive exhibits, although there is a hall of UFO-inspired art works.
  • Young children might be frightened by life-sized replicas of aliens and pictures of the "alien autopsy" that is said to have occurred after the UFO crash.
