Music plays a very important role in breakdancing, as it sets the tone and speed for all of the moves you make. The easiest way to find the music fitting your style is to download music from the Internet.

  • Credit or debit card to purchase music from reputable music dealers
  • Computer with a CD Burner
  • Computer with an MP3 player

Get a Good MP3 Player for Your Computer

Step1
Use your favorite search engine to find a good MP3 player for free. Look for RealPlayer, iTunes or Winamp first.
Step2
Download the needed MP3 player to your computer. Remember to choose the one that is designed for your type of computer (PC or Mac) and that will work with your operating system.
Step3
Install the MP3 player on your computer.

Download Music for Breakdancing

Step1
Use your favorite search engine to look for your favorite Rap or Hip-Hop artist, as this music is traditionally used for breakdancing due to lots of bass and ryhthmic styling.
Step2
Visit Walmart.com for the cheapest online songs. iTunes and RealPlayer sell songs for a little more than Walmart, and many other online music stores are available in the same price range.
Step3
Look for the link or button to take you to the Rap and/or Hip-Hop music section of the online music store.
Step4
Choose an artist or album to listen to by name, song title or cd title.
Step5
Click on the button (usually a small speaker) to preview a portion of the song listed on the webpage. The appropriate MP3 player should open automatically on your computer to play the song. Make sure your volume is turned up!

Picture yourself breakdancing to the song as you preview it.
Step7
Make a list of artists and songs you can breakdance to.
Step8
Click the buttons (usually to the right of songs) to purchase the songs you like the best.
Step9
Pay for your music with a credit or debit card and then advance to the download page.
Step10
Download your music to a file folder on your computer where you will keep all of your music. You computer may find the right folder for you or you can create a new one.

Take Your Music With You

Step1
Back up your downloaded music to a CD. You need a hard copy of your songs in case something happens to your computer.
Step2
Play songs from the CD you make in your stereo in your car, a boombox or other system.
Step3
Upload songs to a portable MP3 player such as an Apple iPod, Creative or other popular player.
