Where to stay, What to do and see...
Step1
London is probably one of the most accesible cities. You can get here by plane, train, automobile, ferry, car, bicycle or even roller blades! When coming to London, you must book your tickets ahead of time because events like Wimbledon and the now ever popular Tour de France in London, people will flock to the capital.
Step2
London has numerous hotels, beds and breakfasts, hostels and short term holiday rentals. Try booking yourself in to a facility that has at least one meal included in your stay. Remember that many hotels do offer discounts for conventions and group tours and will lower rates when trying to fill their rooms. Please check the resources section for more help.
Step3
Go to Buckingham Palace. See an outdoor music festival. Picnic in one of the local parks. Walk across Tower Bridge. Ride the London Eye. Shop Oxford Street. Ride a double decker bus. Watch a play in the West End. Shop famous markets like Camden Town or Portabello Market. Go to Madame Tussaud's or visit the National Gallery. Spend time in the museums. Take a walking tour...
Step4
Bring a light but warm jumper (sweater) to wrap around you when the wind kicks up. The weather tends to change quite a bit so keep yourself prepared and warm. Then visit Trafalgar Square where the pigeons still scare the tourists! Or take advantage of the views in one of London’s many parks.
Step5
Put your bags down, freshen up and head outside. There’s nothing like seeing London at its busiest on Oxford Street in the middle of rush hour traffic.
