Fly to Birmingham if you're coming from outside the country. Birmingham International Airport is home to almost 50 airlines flying to over 100 destinations worldwide. The airport has its own train station just one stop away from Birmingham's city centre.

Take the bus or train if you're coming to Birmingham from within the UK. National Express and National Rail both offer regular services to the centre of town from all over the country; you can pick up some cheap return fares if you book well enough in advance.

Party the night away at Birmingham's top gay nightclubs, Nightingale and DV8. Nightingale is Birmingham's biggest club, spread over 3 floors and featuring some of the best entertainment anywhere in the Midlands. DV8 is just across the road from Nightingale, and the entrance fee is usually cheaper.

Gay Pride is probably the most exciting time to visit the gay bars in Birmingham. It takes place every year on the May Bank Holiday weekend and is one of the largest gay and lesbian events in the UK, featuring a massive carnival parade, street stalls and performances, and loads of dance and music events.
