How to Play Nintendo's New Super Mario Bros

For the newer generation of gamers who didn’t grow up with Nintendo's classic Super Mario Brothers, there is now New Super Mario Brothers, also by Nintendo. New levels, some minigames and an updated but still classic ambience make this game fun for anyone. Here’s a few quick tips on how to get through the levels.

Difficulty: Easy

1. Snag every coin you can get your hands on. Collecting 100 coins will give you another life and having more lives is always a good thing.
2. Bust every brick you can. Innocuous looking blocks can conceal all manner of power-ups and coins.
3. Grab those mushrooms. Red mushrooms make you grow larger while green mushrooms give you an extra life. Growing bigger allows you to take another hit from an enemy before you die.
4. Stomp the enemy. Most every enemy can be defeated by jumping on top of them. Be careful where you stomp though--if you land in front of or behind an enemy, they may turn around and get you.
5. Jump and double-tap the down button to do a power stomp. This can break bricks beneath you, opening the way to more treasure.
6. Use your Star Coins to unlock special levels. The places you can unlock with Star Coins will be displayed on the world map.
