Go shopping at the garden center or a woodworker's craft show and bring home an impulse buy of garden furniture and where does it go? Every gardener knows that the tiny details and finishes of a vegetable or flower garden are what make it complete, so having the garden furniture in the perfect place is crucial.

From Quick Guide: Garden Decorations
Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Arbor
  • Bench
  • Outdoor dining room furniture
  • Hammock
  • Tiki bar
  • Chair
  • Table
  1. Step 1

Place an arbor in the entry of the garden or before an area that requires a grand entrance. Put the arbor in a dry area with full sun for grapes and roses.

  2. Step 2

Locate a bench near a garden pond, waterfall or fountain to encourage sitting down and listening to the running water sounds. A settee or a glider bench works well in this type of area as well.

  3. Step 3

Put the outdoor dining room furniture in the area of the garden with the best atmosphere. Choose a tiny nook for a bistro table, an open area for the canopied dining table, or the vegetable garden for a family picnic table.

  4. Step 4

Hang a hammock for 2 or a hammock swing from 2 trees or a support system. Napping or reading a good book is a proper way to spend time in the garden on hot afternoons.

  5. Step 5

Place the tiki bar and refrigerator near the entertainment area of the garden. Strategically locate the outside bar between the pool and hot tub area and the garden dining area.

  6. Step 6

Line garden paths with small wooden or cement benches and set up chairs in shady locations to encourage visitors to sit for a spell in the gardens of Eden.

  7. Step 7

Place end tables and coffee tables near outdoor benches and chairs with backs that are comfortable for hours of garden entertaining and enjoyment.

  8. Step 8

Add lighting to the outdoor furniture location in the form of torches, lanterns, candles or solar lights to extend garden activities into the evening.

Tips & Warnings
  • Over analyze the placement and outdoor furniture will never find its home in the garden.
  • Establish garden nooks that encourage the arts of drawing, reading, writing, napping and guitar playing.
  • Locate the dining room furniture near the cooking area and not so far the food gets cold before it gets to the garden table.
