How to Write Effective Sales Copy
Writing effective sales copy can be intimidating. You need to sell a product or service but aren't sure what words will best describe it. 1
Think of a great headline for your copy. If you can think of a great headline at the beginning your copy, flow from that idea. If you can't think of a headline without writing some of the copy, that is okay, too. You can also write a headline, but change it many times as you think of better words.
-
2
Start the copy with a great introduction. Once you capture the reader's attention with the headline, you want to keep them interested by having a persuasive introduction. You want the reader to be interested enough to read the entire copy.
-
-
3
Add subheadings into your copy if the copy is more than a paragraph or two. You will need subheadings to start off each new section of the copy, but they should be attention-grabbing so the reader can scan the copy and want to read the paragraph.
-
4
Offer something for free. Whether it is a free trial membership, free report or ebook or a free sample of a product, the word "free" will attract more customers.
-
5
Invite the reader to take action at the end of your copy. Persuade them to make an order, request more information or come into your store. Effective sales copy will do this many times.
-
6
Include customer testimonials in your sales copy. This is the best way for readers to understand what the product or service can do for them. Testimonials give the readers confidence that your product or service is legitimate.
-
7
Keep the sales copy neat and simple. If you dress up the copy with fancy colors and text, it will draw attention away from what you are trying to say. Use easy-to-read text, and your readers will breeze through the copy.
