How to Hand Roll Cigarettes
Cigarettes have skyrocketed in price lately. With so many taxes tacked on, the price of a pack can really set you back. If you want cheaper prices for cigarettes, you can hand roll them yourself! The rolling papers are cheap, the tobacco is less expensive in bulk and you can take pride in knowing that you rolled your own smoke!

1
Find a flat surface. Remove your cigarette paper from the pack and lay it flat on the surface. Cigarette paper is made with tiny folds in it, so it may curl slightly. Make sure a majority of the paper stays on the flat surface.

2
Add tobacco. Take a pinch's worth of tobacco (not very scientific--it's a little less than a tablespoon) and spread it evenly among the center of the rolling paper.

Hand roll the cigarette. Carefully pick up your rolling paper with the tobacco in the middle. (Don't breathe on it since the tobacco will go flying!) Hold the paper with two hands, one on either side of the cigarette paper. Your thumbs should be closest to you on the edge of the paper, and your index fingers should be further from you on either end of the paper. Then, holding the paper at a 45 degree angle, slowly and carefully roll the paper with your thumbs so that you form a cylinder shape. While this cigarette shape should be formed, it shouldn't be overly tight. There should also be additional paper left with which to roll for the next step.

Finish the roll. This can be the hardest part. Again using your thumbs, roll the "cylinder" downward toward the remaining part of the rolling paper. This part of the roll should be really tight to help seal the contents. Stop rolling when only the glue of the rolling paper is left.

Lick the glue to lightly moisten it and seal it by folding the glue side to the paper, thus completing the roll. Let it set for a moment before smoking it. Congratulations--you have just learned how to hand roll cigarettes!
