The Christmas tree is down, the decorations packed away and New Year's Day beckons. Ah, almost a year before Christmas comes again. What will you do now? Have fun! Look for Christmas decorations for next year. Here's how.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Go to any store in your area. There will be lots of post-Christmas sales. You can pick up some cute decorations at very good prices.

  2. Step 2

Visit lawn sales when summer comes. Like the discount stores, you'll be able to find good deals on Christmas decorations. Find lawn sales listed in the papers, or just look for the signs advertising them as you drive around.

  3. Step 3

Attend craft fairs. Find them listed in the paper or hosted by churches and schools. Look for listings online at such sites as Art and Craft Shows or Crafts Fair Online, which have listings throughout the United States (see Resources below).

  4. Step 4

Get online. You can find lots of Christmas decorations listed just by typing "Christmas decorations" into a search engine.

  5. Step 5

Attend church bazaars. These are also listed in the paper or online.

  6. Step 6

Hit the fairs in your area. You can find many Christmas decorations made by local crafters there. Find the fairs in the paper or online by typing "agricultural fairs" or "fairs" in the search bar.

  7. Step 7

Make Christmas decorations yourself. You can take classes through adult education or by going to sites such as Family Fun, Enchanted Learning, Make-Stuff and more (see Resources below).

  8. Step 8

Read through catalogs. You can find some of the most beautiful decorations in the Boston Museum of Fine Arts catalog, the Metropolitan Museum of Art catalog, the Smithsonian Art catalog and more (see the Resources below). Just type "museum shop catalogs" in the search bar.
