1
Plan everything on paper first. Write down ideas for food, activities, entertainers, presenters and anything else that comes to mind. It is best to have a piece of paper to refer to when you are planning an open house. There are many different ways you can please a community and get them interested in becoming members.

Figure out what food you would like at the open house. You can get a catering company to supply the food, cook some of the food yourself or buy food and snacks from a local grocery store. You can pick a theme for the food such as Mexican or Hawaiian to add that creative touch.

3
Ask the community center staff if they have anyone who can formally present the community center on stage. This would be someone who will be able to explain all of the community center's features and activities, as well as the yearly membership fees.

4
Call up some musicians and see if they can perform on this day. An open house is to bring the community closer together and having music in the background can be a comforting touch. Make sure the band doesn't play overly loud, so people in the community can greet and talk with each other.

5
List activities that people can get involved with when they join the community center. People want to know what is involved when purchasing anything, so make sure to have a lot of marketing materials and pamplets around.
-
6
Allow people to try some of the activities that they could get involved with after joining the community center. Let them try a pottery class, or paint in the art studio. Let them experience the community center hands on.
