      Give your future hostess a party planning packet to take home with them and spend ten to fifteen minutes highlighting the important details of it with them immediately after scheduling their party. The first step of hostess coaching should take place the moment someone decides to book a home party with you.

      Reconnect with your hostess two or three days later. This time you'll want to ensure she gives you her guest list to you so you can mail the party invitations out (or you'll need to confirm with her that she's sent the party invitations out on her own). This is also a good time to encourage her to make personal reminder calls to everyone on her list.

      Call your hostess one or two days later to ensure that everyone on her list has received a personal invitation and/or reminder call. Encourage her to keep her refreshments simple and motivate her by reviewing the products on her wish list with her.

      Check in with your hostess once again the day before the party to review last minute details (like the time and location of the party). This is also a good time to ask for directions and to address any concerns she may have about cancellations or attendance. Ask her to consider joining your team as a sales consultant and encourage her to identify people on her guest list that will likely book their own home party with you. You'll also use this time to let her know what time you will arrive, set up and complete the show.

  • Hostess coaching is the most important aspect of your party plan business. You simply can not grow your business (or your income) without adequate attendance at your parties. Treat your hostess like a valued business partner.

  • Sometimes parties are booked several weeks ahead of time. In these cases, it is even more crucial that you maintain constant contact with a future hostess to ensure that she does not lose interest and cancel the show.
