Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Start OneNote 2007. Navigate to the section and page where you want to embed an audio recording.
Step2
Start recording. Place your cursor or pen tip on the page where you want the audio recording to appear. Click on the "Record Audio Only" icon on the Standard toolbar. If it is not visible, click the down arrow at the end of the Standard toolbar to locate the icon. The "Audio and Video Recording" toolbar will appear. If necessary, adjust audio settings by selecting the "Audio and Video Settings" icon.
Step3
Take synchronized notes. You can take typed and handwritten notes while the audio is recording, and your audio and notes will be synchronized for easy playback. Pause recording as necessary using the pause control on the "Audio and Video Recording" toolbar.
Step4
End recording. Use the stop control on the "Audio and Video Recording" toolbar to stop recording and save the audio file.
Step5
Enable or disable Audio Search. The first time that you record audio in OneNote 2007, decide whether to enable "Audio Search." This feature uses voice recognition software to index your audio recordings for relatively accurate searching, allowing you to search simultaneously among your typed, handwritten and recorded audio from the "Search" field.
Step6
Playback your audio. Use the play control on the "Audio and Video Recording" toolbar to playback your recording. Use the "See Playback" control to automatically scroll your typed and handwritten notes in sync with the recording.
