Have you found someone that makes your palms sweaty and your heart pound? If you are thinking of asking someone out, it is important to take these suggestions into consideration. Asking someone out on a date can be nerve-wracking and quite stressful for some people. The first date can be a great experience or a tricky one, so it is best you know how to ask someone the right way to get off on the right foot.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A smile!
  1. Step 1

Make sure you catch your love interest alone. Nothing is more nerve-wracking than approaching someone and asking them out on a first date when they are with friends. You can avoid massive disappointment if you do it when the person is alone.

  2. Step 2

Be positive and smile. A positive attitude creates confidence, and your love interest will most likely be more attracted to your confidence than a negative attitude.

  3. Step 3

Start by making conversation with this person. If you just throw the question out on the table, the person might feel pressured, overwhelmed or just plain shocked. Lead up to your question and talk about other interests. Once you have built a comfortable conversation level between you, you can drop the question.

  4. Step 4

Do not beat around the bush! Once you have made conversation, just ask the question. They are not a mind reader and might completely jump over your suggestion. Be direct!

  5. Step 5

Accept the outcome. If you are told no, then just accept it and move on. There is no point in getting yourself into a negative mood. We tend to take things concerning love too personally. The other person might have other things going on and cannot commit to a date at the moment.

Tips & Warnings
  • For an extra nice touch when asking someone out on a first date, give flowers or do some other act of kindness.
