The PayPal debit card is more than just a regular banking debit card. It actually earns cash back for many purchases. Follow these steps to maximize the return on your cards.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Computer with Internet Access
  • Active Bank Account
  • PayPal Account
  • PayPal Debit Card
  1. Step 1

Sign up with PayPal for a personal, business or premier account. Send for a debit card that will be tied to your account. Confirm one or more of your existing bank accounts with PayPal in order to be eligible for the card.

  2. Step 2

Link at least one bank account to the PayPal debit card as a backup funding source.

  3. Step 3

Get funds into your PayPal account, by selling on eBay or other websites that accept PayPal. Use the backup funding source to add more money to the account.

  4. Step 4

Purchase items using the debit card, but choose to use it as a credit card transaction each time. Sign for any purchases, instead of using a PIN. Pay for online purchases using the PayPal debit card as a credit card.

  5. Step 5

Get 1 percent cash back onto your debit card for every PIN-less purchase. Transfer more money into your PayPal account and pay bills online through the account.

Tips & Warnings
  • There is no limit to the amount of money you can get back, so use the debit card often to make more money.
  • Pay any eBay fees using the debit card as a credit card, instead of allowing eBay to take the funds directly from your PayPal account. If they use it as a direct funding source, you don't earn any cash.
