Step 1
Join a social bookmarking aggregator such as OnlyWire, which allows you to use a bookmarklet in your browser to submit to multiple social bookmarking sites with the click of a button. A social bookmarking site lets others see what sites you find interesting and can help people find your new website if you bookmark your own pages.
-
Step 2
Register with the site and then join all websites that are connected to it that you want to bookmark. The more websites you join, the more traffic you can bring to your website. Once you have joined your chosen amount of websites for social bookmarking (the site addresses are listed on the aggregator), you will need to input your social bookmarking user name and password into OnlyWire during set up.
-
Step 3
Drag the bookmarklet to your toolbar for easy access later. There are two choices and you can simply drag the link by pressing your left mouse button and holding it down while you drag it to the tool bar in Firefox.
-
Step 4
Visit a web page that you want to promote and hit the new 'Save Page' button that you just dragged to your tool bar. A window will come up asking you to sign into OnlyWire. Once you have signed in, the site will ask you to submit tags (category names) that you want associated with your bookmark. You can make these up. Choose relevant keywords and separate those with spaces. You can toggle the 'mark as private' button if you wish or leave it blank and then check each bookmarking site you would like the aggregator to flag.
-
Step 5
Repeat Step 4 for every page you would like to save. This can be used for websites you would like to promote and receive traffic on a page by page level and can be used to help you promote other websites. The result is that each individual social bookmarking site you have chosen will see new content in their directory with every new URL submitted by you. This can save a lot of time over individually submitting URL names into each individual social bookmarking site you frequent.
