Amazon's Pro Merchant account allows you to sell more items for less money. Sellers with a high volume, moving more than 40 items a month, can benefit from the decreased fees that help the account to pay for itself.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Sign up for an Amazon account. Activate your account with banking and credit card information. Confirm your email address and phone number via their automated system.

  2. Step 2

List your media items. Go through the listing template and fill in the description and condition fields. Choose reasonable prices for the items that correspond to the prices listed by the other sellers.

  3. Step 3

Sell the items, ship them out on time and arrange the deposits into your bank account. Wait until the amount of sales per month, warrant spending the monthly fee for the Pro Merchant account.

  4. Step 4

Sign up for the upgrade. Use the extra privileges to design a storefront for your listings and to write product pages for items not included in the Amazon catalog.

Tips & Warnings
  • Watch for Pro Merchant account sales. There are often sales that apply to the first two or three months of the membership fees. Normally, anyone who has had a Pro Merchant account at any time is not eligible for a fee sale.
  • If the volume of sales goes down after the sale period is over, reevaluate keeping the account. If the fee discount isn't paying for itself it isn't worth having.
