How to Behave at a Drug Store

There are usually only two reasons you find yourself at a drug store--to pick up a forgotten grocery or first-aid item, or to pick up a prescription drug from the pharmacy. Either way, you must be courteous to the other customers and employees in the store.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Enter the drug store and look at the overhead signs. There should be signs located on each aisle that describe what products are on that aisle. If there are no signs, just browse the aisles or ask an employee where your item is located.
Step2
Understand that many people who are in the drug store are ill and are in need of medical supplies or drugs. Whether you are sick or well, make your trip to the drug store as quick as possible. Try not to walk down the cold remedy aisle if you are well. One well-aimed cough from an ill person is all it takes to transfer an illness to you.
Step3
Use basic etiquette when you are ill. Cover your mouth when you cough or sneeze and avoid contact with others.
Step4
Look for the pharmacy if you need to drop off a prescription. It is usually located in the rear of the store.
Step5
Drop off your prescription to the pharmacist and try not to touch the counter or the pens. Use your own pen if you need to sign something. Sick people can spread many germs at the pharmacy counter and you can spread your germs or you might end up sicker than you already are!
Step6
Pick up your prescription at the counter and use the same precautions about germs. You can pay for your items at the pharmacy. Exit the store promptly after getting your drugs. You don't want to spread your germs to others if you are contagious.
