The fierce battle of the regular season has skated to an end leaving only half of the teams left searching for Lord Stanley. Well, if the major networks have neglected your game, do not fear, just go online! Here are a few tips on how to watch the NHL playoffs online!

  • Visit ESPN. While you can't actually stream the games live, ESPN does provide an "in game console" which is a live description of the action on the ice. Truthfully, this interface is better with a sport like football or baseball because with every "down" or "pitch" something can be marked and changed. But ESPN does it's best to describe the in game action.

  • Check out the CBC. The Canadian Broadcasting Company actually streams the hockey playoffs online! This is truthfully the best option for watching the games as they take the greatest pride in the quality of their content. Simply visit the website, go to their "watch now live" tab, click on it and watch the game unfold in front of your eyes. Then sit back, crack a molson and root for your favorite team!

  • Hop onto NHL.com. This is another site where you can watch live video of the actual games. Simply click on the "video" option, choose the game you wish to watch, pay the fee (most charge $1 American), sit back and stream the game. Usually it pops up automatically in your systems media player without having to download additional programs. Of course you will need a high-speed Internet connection. (If you're still using dial-up, your best bet to see the game is a local sports bar!)

  • Try your local cable company. Comcast.net is a site of one of the biggest cable providers in the country. They offer the games online for a small fee as well. Simply visit their page, click on the sports tab, find hockey, and then choose the game you'd like to stream. Congratulations! Even the networks have made it tough to watch the NHL hockey playoffs, but have no fear, there are many ways to get them online!
