Poker seems to be getting more popular all the time! Low Chicago Follow the Queen is an easy and fun variation that everyone at the table can enjoy. With wild cards and two different ways to win, this poker game is never boring and anyone can learn to play in just a few minutes.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Put in your ante! If you're new to poker, you'll soon find that most games start this way.

  2. Step 2

Deal two cards face down to each player, then one face up to each player. Players typically take turns as the dealer. Any queen dealt face up is wild, as is the card dealt face up after the queen. This is the part that can be confusing at first. For example, if Player A is dealt the queen of diamonds, then Player B is dealt the four of spades, then both are wild cards; they can be used as any card to make the best possible hand.

  3. Step 3

Play according to the normal rules for Stud Poker. See "How to Play Poker" on eHow for details.

  4. Step 4

Win the game. The winning hand is decided just as in normal stud poker. However, Low Chicago Follow the Queen comes with a twist!

  5. Step 5

Share the wealth. In Low Chicago Follow the Queen, the pot is split between the person with the best hand and the person who has the lowest spade face down. If you have the best hand and the lowest spade face down, you keep all the chips.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make sure you agree beforehand on whether the ace of spades is considered the lowest spade. Either way is acceptable, but a lack of agreement can lead to confrontation later.
