Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Piece of wood
  • Wall sconce candle holder
  • Power Drill
  • Epoxy glue
  • Candles
  1. Step 1

Purchase a piece of wood at a home improvement store or craft store. Cedar is a pretty wood that works well. Choose the size you need for the wall area you want to hang your wall sconce candle votive on. Decide on your choice of wall sconce holder for the type of atmosphere you want to create. A vintage feel can be achieved with any choice of wood, metal or brass candle wall sconces.

  2. Step 2

Measure how wide the bottom rim of your vintage wall holder is. Use your power drill with a drill attachment the same size as the base width of your vintage wall sconce. The hole should be about ½-inch deep.

  3. Step 3

Put epoxy glue around the bottom outer rim of your wall sconce candle votive. Insert it into the wooden piece. Allow the glue to dry for 24 hours.

  4. Step 4

Insert your choice of votive candles in whatever color you choose for your décor. Remember that different sized wall sconces can be made for different kinds of candles. The type candle you choose will determine the atmosphere you're wanting. Tea light candles provide soft, romantic light. Votive or taper candles create a brighter aura.
