How to Create a Thanksgiving Centerpiece

The turkey is often the most common Thanksgiving centerpiece. For those looking for a unique Thanksgiving centerpiece, consider candles, fresh fruit and assorted cheeses. This edible centerpiece will delight guests and double as an appetizer.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Cutting board
  • Red and green grapes
  • Orange kumquat
  • Turkish figs
  • Assorted cheese
  • Assorted crackers
  • Cheese knives

    Prepare the Fruit

  1. Step 1

    Hollow out the centers of an orange, pear, red apple and green apple using a fruit corer or small pairing knife.

  2. Step 2

    Turn each piece of fruit over and take a thin slice off bottom, so the fruit will not tip sideways.

  3. Step 3

    Place a tall taper candle inside each piece of fruit.

  4. Arrange the Centerpiece

  5. Step 1

    Place a large wooden cutting board on the center of the table.

  6. Step 2

    Place the fruit and candles in the center of the board.

  7. Step 3

    Around the fruit and candles place clusters of red and green grapes, orange kumquats and Turkish figs, cut in half.

  8. Step 4

    At each corner of the cutting board, place assorted wedges of cheese, such as goats cheese, cheddar, blue and fontina cheese.

  9. Step 5

    Around each wedge of cheese place an assortment of crackers and cheese knives.

  10. Step 6

    Light the candles just before your guests arrive.
