Winter is the perfect time for lovers. The cold weather encourages couples to be close whether outside on the slopes or inside in front of a fire. Planning a couple's outdoor winter vacation is just another way to create an opportunity to bring a couple together.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Decide the type of vacation and when you would like to travel. Some of the best states to visit in the winter, because they offer a variety of winter activities, are Colorado, Utah, Connecticut and Pennsylvania. Choose based on the your interests, but activities can vary from skiing, cruising Alaskan glaciers, hunting or camping in a mountain lodge. Request brochures or visit websites to see available outdoor activities.

  2. Step 2

Determine whether driving or flying is more economical or functional. If the location is close to home, driving may be more suitable and would allow you more freedom to explore.

  3. Step 3

Make transportation, hotel/resort, meal and excursion reservations in advance either through a travel agent if the trip is complicated or online. Search for online discounts for all aspects of the winter vacation. Consider bed and breakfasts and vacation rentals for lodging as well. Keep reservations, maps, directions and agendas in a folder or binder to stay well organized.

  4. Step 4

Research what gear or special clothing may be needed for the winter vacation. Purchase clothing or other gear that is easy to transport; this may vary depending upon the selected mode of transportation. For example, traveling with snow boots is easier if driving oneself opposed to flying. If you do not wish to take any gear, check into renting any gear that may be needed upon arrival.

  5. Step 5

Prepare to have at least one snowed in romantic night together as a couple.
