Instructions
  1. Step 1

Contact the office of your local Republican Party for information on candidates and issues. Ask about volunteer opportunities. Visit the Republican National Committee site for information about what's happening in your area.

  2. Step 2

Tune into talk radio. Many AM channels offer a line up of conservative chat hosts who discuss the days' events, media, culture and general issues, and invite pundits, authors, and journalists to the show. Most conservative chat shows have a phone-in segment.

  3. Step 3

Check out the chat hosts' websites for articles, editorials and updates on the issues. Michael Medved, Hugh Hewitt, Laura Ingraham and Rush Limbaugh are just a few of the popular radio talk show hosts with an eponymous website. The home page of each lists broadcasts affiliates in your area.

  4. Step 4

Visit the bookstore or library for titles listed on conservative websites or hear discussed on the talk shows. Michael Medved details his metamorphosis from Democrat to Republican in "Right Turns." Also check out "Painting the Map Red" by Hugh Hewitt.

  5. Step 5

Subscribe to the "National Review," "Wall Street Journal" or "The Limbaugh Letter." These publications give an alternate view to the one you are likely to get from the liberal media.
