Step 1
Gather your materials. You will need paper, a pen or pencil and someone to play with!
-
Step 2
Draw a gallows on your page. A gallows can be formed by drawing an upside down L.
-
Step 3
Think of a word or series of words. You may want to play a themed game and only use quotes or book, movie or song titles. Once you have thought of the word or words you want your opponent to guess, draw a line for each letter of the word(s), leaving a space where there would be a space between words. For example, if you were doing "To Kill a Mockingbird," your dashes would look like this: -- ---- - -----------.
-
Step 4
Write out the letters of the alphabet on your page and have your opponent start guessing which letters might be in your puzzle. If he guesses a correct letter, fill in the letter on the appropriate dash or dashes, and cross out that letter in the alphabet.
-
Step 5
Draw a section of a body on the gallows if your opponent guesses a letter that is not in your puzzle. For example, if she guessed "S" in the "To Kill a Mockingbird" puzzle, you might draw the head.
-
Step 6
Determine the winner by who finishes first. If the puzzle is guessed before the victim on the gallows is complete, the opponent wins and they create the next puzzle. If the victim is complete before the puzzle is guessed, you win and get another turn!
