Step 1
Wear your grandmother's dress or a replica of it. If your grandmother doesn't have her dress or it can't be altered to fit you, find a picture of her wedding and have a designer duplicate her dress for you to wear.
-
Step 2
Make a note of appreciation in your wedding program about your grandparents or have your officiant say a prayer in their honor.
-
Step 3
Hand a flower to each of the grandmothers as you walk down the aisle to meet your groom. You can also place a personalized handkerchief or other gift at their seat at the church or ceremony site.
-
Step 4
Read a poem, speech or letter dedicated to your grandparents during your wedding reception. Tell a funny anecdote or story about how they influenced your life growing up.
-
Step 5
Place framed pictures of both the bride and the groom's grandparents on the guest book table at the wedding reception, along with pictures of your parents.
-
Step 6
Seat your grandparents and parents at a table of honor during your wedding reception. Many times grandparents and parents do not sit at the bridal party table. Therefore you can set up another table of honor at the front of the reception hall for both sets of grandparents and parents. Include special decorations on the table to draw attention to the table.
