Step 1
Organize age categories for both male and female wrestlers. Ranges can be ages 10 to 15 years, 16 to 20 years and 21 and older.
-
Step 2
Assign weight categories according to the body size and build of each wrestler. Four to six weight categories are all that is required. An official weigh-in is not required.
-
Step 3
Regulate dress code by requiring male wrestlers to wear swimming trunks and female wrestlers to wear swimsuits (one piece or two piece).
-
Step 4
Distribute a uniquely numbered ankle band to each wrestler representing each age and weight category. After each match the loser gives the ankle band to the referee.
-
Step 1
Follow the referee. The competition is managed by a single referee who makes all the decisions, which are final and cannot be questioned. If neither wrestler is able to attain a victory within the timeframe, the referee will decide the match.
-
Step 2

A wrestler can win the competition against an opponent by scoring any one of the following: Holding an opponent's shoulders down to the sand, double takedown, double throw, forcing an opponent out of the competition area.
-
Step 3
Know the penalties. Committing any of the following will result in a penalty: Kicking or punching, hair pulling, using any oily substance on the body, holds that may result in bodily injury or intentional interruption of the match.
-
Step 4
Know the classifications. Winning classifications are one first place, one second place and two third places for each weight category.
