Wakeboarding is the bomb! Part water skiing, part snowboarding, it is a hot new sport where the rider is pulled from a motor boat as he wakeboards behind it. The pros can do jumps, flips and twists just like in water skiing. Read on to learn more.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Check out stores online. Bartswatersports.com is a great site with great deals. Also checkout the-house.com. There you will find more great deals on wakeboarding gear. Of course the auction house legend ebay.com may have some of the best deals.

  2. Step 2

Shop late in the season. You've heard the old adage "the early bird gets the worm," well the super early bird gets the wakeboarding gear. As September draws to a close and the wakeboarding season is ending, go to your local extreme sports store. (These are usually regionalized throughout the country. Big 5 in the west or Modell's Sporting Goods in the east are options). At this time of year you will find tremendous deals as they get rid of the last of the summer merchandise to make room for the winter sports supplies!

  3. Step 3

Check out wakeboarding clubs! Surf the web and find wakeboarding clubs. Rmitwwc.com is a great wakeboarding club. There you may find people getting rid of used merchandise that is perfectly good. Some people upgrade, decide to leave the sport, or their kids outgrow things.

  4. Step 4

Advertise. You don't have to go to the sellers, let the sellers come to you. Craigslist.com has changed the landscape of the buyer seller community. On the site you can list yourself as someone who is looking to buy wakeboarding gear. Through the site, potential sellers will email you, and then the two of you can work out a deal from there. Congratulations, you have just learned how to get wakeboarding gear!

Tips & Warnings
  • Always be sure to wear a properly fitted life preserver. Wakeboarding is cool, water accidents are not. Take the time to get fitted, it may save your life.
  • Make sure children are properly supervised, know how to swim, and learn wakeboarding from a professional before trying it. Water sports are fun, but they are also dangerous to the uneducated.
