How to Learn from Extreme Snowmobiling Videos

So you've got your extreme snowmobile, your extreme gear, and your extreme snowmobiling equipment. Plus, those gnarly mountain trails are outright yelling at you. Never fear. Watching extreme snowmobile videos is a great way to learn extreme snowmobiling in a manner guaranteed to set your blood on fire--all without having to leave the comfort of your easy chair. Read on to learn more.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Visit your video store and head for the sports or documentary sections. Look for any of the Slednecks (White knuckle Extreme) videos or DVDs Other good extreme snowmobiling DVD's are "Extreme Velocity: Sled Dreams," "Stunt Junkies Season 1--Episode 11: Snowmobile Barrel Roll," "Turnagain Hardcore 110," "Prairie Boys" and "Their Toys, any of the First Ascent films, and Heavy on the Throttle.

  2. Step 2

    Go online and look for extreme snowmobiling videos. Check the following websites: Bofunk, Snowmobile Guys, Big Sky Xtreme, Team Sno Quest, and YouTube.

  3. Step 3

    Pay close attention to the rider's approach to the almost vertical ascents or descents. Notice what the rider does just before the ascent or descent, and where is he sitting on the machine.

  4. Step 4

    Watch how to handle wild turns. Analyze whether a turn failed because it was made too late causing the machine to get off-balance.

Tips & Warnings
  • Watch a few videos, try it yourself, the re-watch the videos for details you missed. You're not going to learn everything in a day, or even a week.
  • Do NOT try to duplicate dangerous tricks until you are ready. It took years for those guys to get where they are, and it'll very likely take years for you also.
