How to Sell a Pet Tarantula

For whatever reason you have decided to sell your pet Tarantula, you need to find a good place to sell it. In many ways, it is similar to selling a regular pet spider, however, you should have an easier time selling your Tarantula because there is a greater demand for this pet. Read on to learn more.

1. Look through websites with classifieds specifically for different types of bugs. These should give you an idea of what people are selling and what people are looking for. If you know the breed, you can look at what price other people are selling the same breed for.
2. Create a classified ad to sell your pet Tarantula. Include a picture to show its specific colors and designs. Also, include a description of the age, sex, and breed. List your asking price and what accessories are included, if any.
3. Make flyers to hang up in local grocery stores and veterinary clinics. Make sure to ask permission before posting anything. Include the same information as you did in the classified ad.
4. Discuss with the buyer how the sale should occur. If the buyer is too far away for pickup, organize a safe shipping method. If you aren't sure if you can trust the buyer, ask for the payment to be a certified check. Wait until the payment has been received to send your tarantula.
5. Follow up with the buyer if you had to ship it to make sure that it survived the trip. After both you and the buyer are happy with the transaction, you're done!

Tips & Warnings

• Make sure to have a back up plan with the buyer in case your Tarantula doesn't survive the shipping trip. For example offer the buyer the option of insuring the shipment.
