Is your pet spider looking a little ragged around the edges? Maybe it's time to give him a good grooming. Rather than plunking down good money at the local spider spa, you can spruce him up at home in just a few minutes.

Instructions

Difficulty: Challenging

Things You’ll Need:

  • Fingertip baby toothbrush, manicure scissors, pomade

Step1
Hold the spider in the palm of your hand in a well-lighted area. Spiders aren't known for staying still for long, so you will have to work quickly.
Step2
Apply long strokes through the spider's fur using a fingertip baby toothbrush, Brush the fur all the same direction, taking care to avoid the delicate eye area.
Step3
Check the ends of the fur. If they're looking split or ragged, give them a quick trim with a manicure scissors. If your spider has bangs, they should be trimmed to above the eyebrows.
Step4
Finish with a light pomade. Avoid using too much, because this tends to create a greasy look. Congratulations! You've done it!

Tips & Warnings

  • Once a year, consider applying a deep-conditioning treatment. The added moisture keeps fur shiny and easy to comb.
  • Avoid using peroxide-based hair colorants on your spider.
