How to Pick Music for a Stag Party

The type of music you decide on for a stag party will depend on the type of the people you invite, the collective age of the group and the stag party events. Music can set the mood and bring out the wild side out in some people; so choose with care-especially when mixing with alcohol. Read on to learn more.

1. Review your invitation list. The collective age of the group will determine the music for the evening. If the group is more mature, classic rock might be more appropriate. With a younger crowd, it might be a mix of anything from Johnny Cash to Kid Rock to Snoop Dogg.

2. Stick with the theme. If the stag party is themed based, you will need to be exceptionally creative and try to tie all the music for the party into the theme. Not to hard if it's a Cowboy theme, but a Gladiator theme might be a bit more of a challenge.

3. Plan music and events to go hand and hand. If you are planning a dinner theater, your music choice will be more subdued. A skeet shooting, white water rafting or ATV weekend will need all the jazzed up, high-power tunes you can throw at it.

4. Plan music for each component of the party. Activities can have one type of music while evening festivities have something completely different. If you hired a belly dancer or stripper, they will probably bring their own music.

5. Hire a D.J. Most experienced D.J.s will know exactly what music will match your stag party festivities. You can give the D.J. the events, theme or festivities list and let him match the tunes. He might even be able to help you pull off the Gladiator theme.
