Vespas are a work of art. They certainly look and run like much more than a run-of-the-mill scooter. Vespa owners take pride in restoring and showing off their scooters. There are so many creative and fun ways to add spice to your Vespa or bring it back to its original condition. Read on to find out how.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Step1
Figure out what items you will need. Perhaps you need a new paint job, headlight or handle bars. Make sure to write a list of all the new parts you'll need. You'll also want to make sure you have tools you will need like a sander or small paintbrushes if you want to add designs or details.
Step2
Contact your local Vespa mechanic or other Vespa owners in your area for advice. To find information about restoring Vespas on the Internet, go to sites like AllVespa.com. There are many vintage Vespa sites, and you'll be able to find all the info you need by browsing around these sites and their bulletin boards.
Step3
Look at photos of restored Vespas for additional ideas on how to improve your scooter. Sometimes a simple glance at a photo in a magazine or on the Web can inspire you.
Step4
Be patient. It may take awhile for you or your mechanic to get your scooter looking like a million bucks, but the pay off will be worth it. It may also take awhile to find the exact part you need from the dealer or another Vespa expert.
Step5
Enjoy the results of your (or your mechanic's) handiwork! Vespas are a truly gorgeous scooter when brand-new, but nothing beats a fully restored vintage Vespa. Now take it for a ride and be the envy of your friends!
