How to Join a Station Wagon Club

Most people associate stations wagons as being out-of-date, boxy, stodgy family cars. However station wagon clubs have begun to spring up nationwide as people recall fonder days or have found ways to soup those stodgy looking station wagons to give them new life. Whatever tickles your station wagon fancy, there is a good chance there is a station wagon car club just for you.

      Hitch up your wagon! Most station wagon clubs adhere to some type of rules as to what is considered a station wagon car. While various car clubs cater to different tastes, generally speaking the term "station wagon" is applied to any car with extended rear cargo space.

      Talk it up. You can first start your journey by joining a station wagon discussion group online. There are many various discussion groups dedicated to station wagon devotees. Yahoo has discussion groups; and many of the online sites have devoted space to discussion groups.

      Seek advice online. Many websites maintained by dedicated station wagon owners dispense great advice as well as provide listings for station wagon clubs. Among these are StationWagon.com, the International Station Wagon Cub and the American Station Wagon Association.

      Meet up. Check the websites of these popular station wagon resources for listings of station wagon meets, rallies and conventions throughout the world. The best way to join a club that matches your interest is to attend one of these rallies and meet the people who share your station wagon love. Most clubs require a modest membership fee.
