Step 1
Use the Kelly Blue Book or NADA Guides to determine the value of your station wagon.
-
Step 2
Wash the station wagon thoroughly using Armor All Ultra Shine Wash and Wax. Be sure to remove all road grime. Be extra thorough around the front bumper and the long hood of the station wagon as these areas seem to get especially dirty.
-
Step 3
Spray Armor All Triple Action Wheel Cleaner on the wheels. Let it sit for 5 minutes then wash it off. Spray Armor All Tire Foam on the tires to give them a shiny new look.
-
Step 4
Make sure all routine maintenance is up to date by checking in your owners manual to see what needs to be done. If there are maintenance items to be performed, take the station wagon to a certified mechanic to have the work done and keep all the receipts so that you can show potential buyers a record of maintenance.
-
Step 5
Clean the interior of the station wagon. You will need to vacuum and shampoo the upholstery and carpets, and wipe down all the solid surface interior parts with Armor All Cleaning Wipes.
-
Step 6
Take pictures of the station wagon on a bright sunny day. You will want good pictures of your shiny clean station wagon for potential buyers to see!
-
Step 7
Place a "For Sale" sign in the window of the station wagon and leave it parked at the end of the parking lot of a toy store. The more exposure to potential buyers that you can give your station wagon, the better your chances of making a quick sale!
-
Step 8
Take out a "For Sale" ad in the classified section of your local newspaper. Many used car buyers still start their search in the old reliable newspaper.
-
Step 9
Place an ad on one or more online car sale sites such as Autotrader, Cars, or CarsDirect. Be sure to upload the pictures that you took of your station wagon into your ad to show people what your station wagon looks like.
