Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging

Step1
Contact local car clubs for information on muscle car rallies. Check newspapers for weekly local events and car magazines for events listed by city, region or state. Ask mechanics and other people who know cars who to contact about getting involved in muscle car rallies. Check online rally and car club websites for listed events and races as well as for other important information, especially websites for "Rally America" and "NASA Rally Sport."
Step2
Consider joining a muscle car club and/or rally club so that you have access to current rally schedules and planned events specific to muscle cars. Join a car club if you want to network and learn more about muscle cars and rally sports.
Step3
Find events in your region or area to participate in. Since rallies take place on various types of roads and in just about any kind of weather conditions, decide which type of rally is best suited for you and your muscle car. Also, rallies are divided by car class/type.
Step4
Get your car rally ready; make sure everything's working properly and brakes and tires check out for safety. Know that rally regulations often require vehicle preparation guideline compliance and a technical inspection of all cars participating.
Step5
Prepare for entering your muscle car in rallies. According to "NASA Rally Sport," rallies run all year in America with events scheduled from coast to coast. Figure out where you will participate—locally, regionally, nationally or internationally. Besides a schedule of events and registration forms, you will need license applications and contact information. Find out where to read (online) or where to obtain a copy of the competition regulations for the event you are interested in.
Step6
Enter your muscle car in a rally and enjoy the benefits of being a part of something great!
